I once heard of this magical purple place that people were travelling near and far to experience. Terre Bleu is a massive lavender field in Milton, Ontario. The farm opened up just a few years ago after a family went on vacation to Quebec, where they visited another lavender field. The family immediately fell in love with the idea and began researching all things lavender when they returned home. This lead to them eventually opening a farm and aviary of their own, which is now known as Terre Bleu.
When you first walk onto the farm grounds, you are immediately surrounded by the wonderful aroma of lavender. The first glance you take into the abyss of purple is quite remarkable. The farm is quiet. It’s serene with people enjoying the view, trails, and lavender ice cream. (They were all out when I went unfortunately, but I heard it is amazing).
Terre Bleu also has a store on site with all things lavender. I could have literally bought the entire store full of macaroons, bath bombs, soaps, chocolates, stuffed animals, essential oils…you name it. I refrained and only purchased a lavender salad dressing because I was so intrigued by how it would taste.
The farm is the perfect place to enjoy someone else’s company and escape from the busy life I’m sure you all live. After leaving I had this odd sense of peace, as if I had just been to a therapeutic spa. It doesn’t hurt to acknowledge what an amazing photo op it is too.
